An extensive rebuild on Squarespace means working within a platform that wasn't designed for deep customization, finding the places where default behavior breaks down on mobile, and fixing them without fighting the platform at every turn. Getting the site to feel considered on every device, not just resized, took more than templates and careful content placement.
