About

Hi, I'm Cheyann

I studied digital marketing, but kept finding myself more interested in the person clicking the ad than the ad itself — so I pivoted to product design, and it's the best decision I've made.

I design B2B SaaS and subscription products, and I care most about work that ships and creates real impact. Most recently I've been the sole designer at Spot & Tango, owning the full product surface and shipping launches alongside a lean engineering team.

Outside of work, I'm a dedicated Hamilton enthusiast (two years on Spotify Wrapped, zero regrets), and I share my NYC apartment with Winnie, my 11-year-old Yorkie Poo, who supervises most of my Figma sessions from the couch.

How I work

Design is a research discipline

I don't start in Figma. I start with the problem — customer data, usability sessions, stakeholder interviews. The designs that have had the most impact in my career came from understanding why before thinking about what.

Constraints make better products

Some of my best design decisions came from working within tight constraints. The Buffer Bags order-attachment requirement felt limiting until it became a feature. I've learned to treat constraints as creative input rather than obstacles.

Shipping is the goal

Portfolio-quality mockups that never launch don't help anyone. I design to ship — which means working closely with engineering, making tradeoffs when needed, and iterating based on real usage data rather than theoretical perfection.

My key strengths

🔍

Research-first approach

I don't open Figma until I understand the problem. Every project starts with user interviews, analytics, or competitive research to make sure I'm solving the right thing.

End-to-end ownership

I've owned products from discovery through to shipped code — writing briefs, facilitating research, designing systems, and running visual QA before launch.

📊

Impact I can measure

My work is tied to real outcomes: $550K+ in revenue impact, +40% booking conversions, reduced CX ticket volume. I design to move metrics, not just look good in Figma.

🤝

Strong cross-functional partner

I've worked closely with PMs, engineers, CX, and ops to ship 30+ launches. I translate design decisions into engineering constraints and business logic into user needs.

🎯

Meticulous visual QA

I catch what others miss. I perform systematic visual QA across devices before every launch, communicating feedback clearly to engineering via detailed annotations.

🔄

Iterative and data-driven

I pilot before I scale. Buffer Bags launched to 10% before rolling out to all users. I use Mouseflow, A/B tests, and usability sessions to validate before committing.
